We're home!

I am currently sitting next to Karen and Michelle on the couch while Karen crunches an apple in my ear. 5 days ago this probably would have irritated me. Actually I'm sure it would have irritated me. After the past few days it now sounds like a chorus of angels. (Michelle's crunching on the other hand still irritates me).

I am finally able to show Karen the blog first hand and she is really overwhelmed and touched at your outpouring of love and expressions of sympathy.

Karen has given me permission to post a picture of how she is looking, but it may be a day or so before I do.

Thanks again to everyone. The next big news will come on Thursday or Friday when we find out exactly what kind of cancer it is and then begin to develop a treatment plan.

I'll be talking to you all again soon (probably later tonight).

Dave

Praise God from whom all blessings flow and praise Him that although He does not keep us from hardship, that He keeps us in the midst of it and in spite of it. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Hey Karen!

It's Eydie from high school. Don't know if you remember me (brain surgery or not!) since it has been so long!

Cheryl just sent out a message letting me know what's going on. From the blogs, it sounds like things are going well. Know that you're in my thoughts.

Take care and maybe we'll come up with our own get-together since our class has been so lame with reunions!

Love,
Eydie

Ps 17:8 "Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings"

Couldn't resist sharing biblical encouragement to an apple-crunching "apple" :)

I just found your blog from Copper's Wife on Xanga. I'd adding it to my favorites. Praying for your dear wife and family. I think it is awesome that in the midst of this great struggle you can still write with humor :-) The great love you have for your wife is shining!

Hello Karen,
Hugo Schmidt here, you gave all of us a pretty big scare! I wonder if there was something in the water at Mt Eden High. I suffered a brain aneurism at the start of the year. Thank God I have fully recovered, as I believe you will too. My prayers are with you and your family.

Hi Karen & Dave -
I have not seen or spoken with you in quite some time. I am so glad Michelle e-mailed me to let me know what you were facing. I want you to know that I am praying for you multiple times daily. I can see by what has already been blogged that you are trusting God. That's all you can do and know that he has a special plan and that no matter what the outcome - All things work together for good,to those who love the Lord - so some good things will come from this situation.
I am happy to know you are home. I cannot believe the small world it is - I told Michelle that I grew up with your friend Smidge! She named her youngest son after my father!
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I will be asking others who don't know you to pray for you and your family as well.

Y'all don't know me, I'm just another homeschooling mom, that heard about you on a homeschooling message board. I want you to know that I (as well as countless others) are praying for you. May God give you His peace, which surpasses all understanding! KLynnTX

So glad you are at home. I hope you had a pleasant night sleep in your own bed last night. Praying for continued recovery and strength as you meet with your oncologist this Thursday. I know you will probably be a barrell of nerves.
Grace and peace,
Nan
